Series II WaterRower’s were manufactured in both the US and the UK (check the level gauge for the country of origin). Each location manufactured various versions of the rowing machine.

US Model A

The US operation manufactured two basic designs of the rowing machine, the WaterRower Series II Model A and the WaterRower Series II Model B.

The WaterRower Series II Model A was the first redesign of the popular Series I and may be identified by the following characteristics.

Footboard

US Model A

The Footboard was a single piece and both the heel rest and the 1″ foot strap were adjustable by a series of bolt holes in the footboard.

US Model B

US Model A

The tank is vaccum formed with a 1″ corner radius a fabricated stainless steel paddle.

Dolly Wheels

US Model A

The dollywheels are 4″ with a JCM attachment to the rower.

US Model B

Rails

US Model A

The rails are 1.25″ x 4.5″ wood with a double bungee.

US Model B

The rails are aluminum with a double bungee.

Monitor

US Model A

The monitor has a 4″ housing, uses a motorola chip and membrane switch buttons.

US Model B

The monitor has a 4″ housing, uses a motorola chip and membrane switch buttons.

UK

The monitor has a 4″ housing, uses a microchip IC with a Tacho motor, belt sensor, and membrane switch buttons.

Key Brackets

US Model A

The Key Brackets (the trapezoidal elements connecting the footboard, the top deck and the bottom deck) were made of wood.

US Model B

The Key Brackets (the trapezoidal elements connecting the footboard, the top deck and the bottom deck) were made of wood.

UK

The Key Brackets (the trapezoidal elements connecting the footboard, the top deck and the bottom deck) were predominately made of wood however with some later versions there was a rollout change to urethane (rubber-like) key brackets.

Clutch

US Model A

The Clutch is 3″in diameter and made of steel.

US Model B
